By early 2004, the federal government will be issuing the computer recycling initiative which will require computer manufacturers to charge about $10.00 per computer for mandatory computer recycling. At Mattvideo.com, we are trying to stay ahead of the game by offering a computer recycling service. Recently it costs more to try to refurbish an old computer than it is to just throw it away or donate it to an organization such as a church; however, such slow computers might not even be usable for such endeavors as technology changes and programs become more processor intensive.
